Founded in 1994 by two international trade attorneys, Charter was created to be the best compliance-focused, full-service customs brokerage firm in the United States. More than 25 years later, Charter has upheld that vision in every aspect of our customs brokerage and duty drawback services. Compliance is never an added service for our clients; it is ingrained in our company culture and operations, to the benefit of our clients. We are dedicated to providing our clients with comprehensive, compliance-focused customs services, including import, export, merchandise clearance, FTZ, drawback, and related services.

I consider it to be an honor to be the Chief Executive Officer of Charter Brokerage LLC. This enables me to work with a team of dedicated professionals to serve our amazing clients. In our company, we make a commitment to each and every employee when they are hired at Charter and, in turn, this develops a family dynamic, which benefits Charter and our client base.
We see our employees working together through smooth times and turbulent ones. They challenge each other to get the best out of themselves and their colleagues. They work together to create unique solutions to difficult problems and are encouraged to share these innovative ideas. The process I describe develops trust, mutual respect, and a belief in each other. It is this commitment that creates a family unit.
The commitment that I make to our staff and they make to their colleagues has transcended to a commitment to our clients. Without our clients, Charter would not be the nation’s leading customs broker. We would not have filed over $1 billion in drawback during the first two years of the new drawback law. We would not have the most compliant import, export and FTZ brokerage services in the United States and Canada.
At Charter, we encourage creative solutions to complex problems. Since 1994, this type of approach has led us to advocate for new expanded capabilities in our drawback laws and new U.S. Customs regulations to increase efficiencies for import entry filings. We are very proud of the legislative changes that Charter has led and we will continue to work with government leaders to expand our trade laws to benefit our clients.
